The challenge
The Sonoma County Department of Emergency Management needed a clear way to reach residents with potentially life-saving information. Awareness is essential, yet the county’s diverse population means messaging must be accessible, multilingual, and easy to understand, even for people who may feel overwhelmed or unsure where to start. They also run a wide range of preparedness trainings and community events, which require consistent, recognizable outreach across channels. The challenge was to boost visibility, build trust, and ensure that crucial information reached the right people at the right time.
The Solution
We created a series of cohesive awareness and preparedness campaigns designed to resonate across Sonoma County’s many communities. This included bilingual digital and print materials such as ads for local publications, posters, flyers, social graphics, pop-up banners, event collateral, and shareable resources. Each campaign was built with clarity, accessibility, and cultural relevance in mind to help reinforce preparedness and encourage community participation. Over time, our partnership has also extended to related organizations—including Sonoma County CERT and FireSafe Sonoma—ensuring consistent messaging and strong visual alignment across the county’s broader emergency preparedness efforts.
