Codding Enterprises
Codding Enterprises is a locally owned real estate and development company based in Sonoma County. Founded by Hugh and Nell Codding, the company helped shape post–World War II Santa Rosa, most notably with the creation of Coddingtown in 1962. Today, Codding is still family run and continues to manage and evolve a portfolio that includes retail, property management, and construction.

The challenge
Codding first came to us for help modernizing the public website for Coddingtown. They needed a site that could keep up with real life: changing store hours, rotating promotions, seasonal events, and new tenants. As the partnership grew, they also wanted materials that helped visitors navigate the property in person, and a way to present the broader Codding Enterprises brand beyond just Coddingtown.
The Solution
We designed and built a new Coddingtown site that’s easy to update and easy to use. Visitors can browse an interactive directory map, find current offers, and see what’s happening on the property right now. The content strategy reflects how the client wants to be seen: Coddingtown, not “the mall,” and Codding as an active local owner, not a faceless management group. We also created printed brochures and directory maps to support wayfinding on site, and expanded the web presence to highlight Codding’s related service areas, including real estate, construction, and property management.
