How to place the visitor into the venue? That was the question asked of us by Joker's Wild Comedy Club. This Connecticut locale wanted to bring some of the ambiance and experience of their showcase onto the web, and attempt to give the visitor a feel for what they have to offer, including regularly-changing comics, class schedules, and pricing updates.

Solution

Due to the nature of the client, this particular website needed more dynamic control of changing elements. Our primary technique for conveying information to the visitor was the pertinent placement of a calendar for the club's upcoming events that self-updates as information is entered into the site's database by Joker's Wild staff. Subsequently, related links for show, comic, or class descriptions are fetched from the site's database and furnished on the front page. Furthermore, completed events are automatically removed from the front page based on date, so that what visitors initially see is a current list of upcoming events. Combining this scheduling ease with the tone and design theme of the club has given Joker's Wild a significant boost in online visitors. Management states that "Our business has tripled since LINK Creative created our new website. Not a day goes by that we don't get a compliment about the site. Even the comics love it, [it] really makes it easy for them to promote themselves and has [made] my life easier as general manager of Joker's Wild Comedy."
