Challenge
Byerbri Olive Oil is the product of northern Californian and artisan Daniel Byerly. As a local product, Byerbri is infused with influences from Mr. Byerly's art and music. We felt this unique combination of craft and craftsman needed to be put on display in order to make the entire package stand out as not just a specialty product, but a part of the artist himself.
Solution
The page is a canvas, and our job is to showcase the artist through his art. This was the mentality we held throughout the design process. We began by displaying on the base layer a closeup of one of the artist's paintings, which is reminiscent of his self-designed logo. While the primary product is the olive oil, it's a creation of Mr. Byerly, so he provided a bio about the genesis of his goods and how it came forth from his personal life and was influenced by his artwork. Speaking of which, we dedicated a gallery page to present his paintings, which is a sampling of his brick and mortar gallery. We also provided examples and clips of Mr. Byerly's music pieces to further capture the spirit of the artisan. Finally, to expand his sale range, we included a shopping cart to deliver the final product to the consumer.
